As we edge closer to the tipping point of climate catastrophe, the lack of political will to address the impending crisis becomes ever starker. With more severe wildfires raging globally, natural disaster continues to be used as a tool for purposeful deforestation.
Central to Fire Season is this theme of filtered and distorted information – we’re never quite getting the full story. The red film that covers the windows where the large format b&w prints are installed distorts and colours the images - allowing the audience only a partial and altered view of the photographs.
